A week later, we went to Tofino on Vancouver Island. We arrived at Long Beach, a surfer paradise, just in time to see the sunset - wonderful colours and a nice atmosphere. In winter, it's possible to go Storm Watching there, which must be very impressive. On the next day, we decided to go Whale Watching combined with a visit to the Hot Springs which are located on the coast of Flores Island. Luckily, on the way to the island, we saw some grey whales, sea lions and an eagle with its nest. After a little walk through the ancient rain forest, we could relax in the hot water, while ice-cold waves were coming from the sea and providing comfortable cooling.

Rainy Saturday Afternoon
Good time to write a new post on my blog. What happened to my plans? I actually went to Seattle on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. But it was a bit disappointing, since it took such a long time to cross the border, where I felt like a criminal when I had to give my fingerprints and look into a camera. Our first stop was at a shopping mall, where we spent 90 minutes, which was too short for the huge number of shops. At that time we had already two hours of delay; therefore I had to decide between the Space Needle and Downtown. I chose the Downtown, but it was for just two hours. This was enough to see the Market Place, the first Starbucks and the Abercrombie & Fitch store, but unfortunately nothing more.

hiya, "Shit happens" is indeed a common phrase. Me too, I use it. Sometimes I tend to taking things too serious, too! Probably there's quite an unbalance in what we take serious that actually is ridiculous, and what we laugh about it, but it's more than serious eventually. Some things, in our world, require serious attention - and they don't get some.
Our society is ignorant, thus there's no wonder if one day "Shit really happens"! Then probably we're more reminded that our 'tiny' troubles we're confronted with day by day are nothing serious as such! Being more relaxed towards them is a good base for your proverb and we'll more often use it! "Shit happens - or as people from Bern say: "Life isn't a cookie - at least not a soft one!" :)
good luck,
Simon
