A Sentence Which Inspired Me

A friend once told me the sentence which goes like this: "Everything you say should be the truth, but not everything which is true should be said". For me, especially the first part of the sentence is extremely important. If somebody asks me how I find something, I'll give an honest answer, since I also expect to hear the truth from other people. It's the way you say it that is important. However, depending on the situation, it is sometimes wise to keep your opinion to yourself because you probably just hurt the other person.

Rainy Saturday Afternoon

Good time to write a new post on my blog. What happened to my plans? I actually went to Seattle on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. But it was a bit disappointing, since it took such a long time to cross the border, where I felt like a criminal when I had to give my fingerprints and look into a camera. Our first stop was at a shopping mall, where we spent 90 minutes, which was too short for the huge number of shops. At that time we had already two hours of delay; therefore I had to decide between the Space Needle and Downtown. I chose the Downtown, but it was for just two hours. This was enough to see the Market Place, the first Starbucks and the Abercrombie & Fitch store, but unfortunately nothing more.
A week later, we went to Tofino on Vancouver Island. We arrived at Long Beach, a surfer paradise, just in time to see the sunset - wonderful colours and a nice atmosphere. In winter, it's possible to go Storm Watching there, which must be very impressive. On the next day, we decided to go Whale Watching combined with a visit to the Hot Springs which are located on the coast of Flores Island. Luckily, on the way to the island, we saw some grey whales, sea lions and an eagle with its nest. After a little walk through the ancient rain forest, we could relax in the hot water, while ice-cold waves were coming from the sea and providing comfortable cooling.

Shit happens

That's a phrase I often use. I like it because it means that you shouldn't take everything too seriously (which is something I do too often). Sometimes nothing goes in the way you would like it, but that's life and it goes on.

"Dumm gelaufen!" (German)
"ya nimodo" (Spanish)
"Tant pis" (French)

and a big hello from LEO! Enjoy life!

The Deer - Normally a Shy Animal

Our task today is to upload a funny video or picture. Here you go.

I really had to laugh about the hunter being attacked by the deer. Normally, most animals have no chance to escape, but this video shows the opposite and it is funny to see how determined the deer attacks his enemy. Go on!

Football

Was it exciting? I would be lying if I said yes. Let's say, it was a good experience.
The main reason was that there were too many breaks between the real playing time, which made the whole game too lengthily. At least, BC Lions won against Calgary by 43:9!

Cloud 9

To celebrate my birthday, Kacy and Clayton invited my to Cloud 9 which is a revolving restaurant on the top of the Empire Landmark hotel. The view over Vancouver was fantastic and my tenderloin beef delicious!

My plans

Next weekend I will see my first football game - BC Lions against another team. I hope it will be thrilling. Probably, once I will go to a hockey game as well, since the canadians seem to be crazy about hockey and now the season has just started. My homestay mom, Kacy, told me that in Canada the games are much more spectacular than in Switzerland. This made me curious.
On the weekend before Thanksgiving, I consider to go to Seattle on one day and if it is possible to Vancouver Island. I wish to go whale watching there and see some orcas. Hopefully, I can add some nice pictures the next time.
